Spain is One of the Countries that Offers the Best Hotels and Hotel Services in the World

Chloe San Emeterio at IMS has asked the hotel and tourism expert David Zynert to give his opinion on the best hotels and holiday resorts in Spain.

As you have travelled a lot and probably know a lot of hotels and places in Spain, can you give me a top 5 of hotels and cities "must see"?

Mr. Zynert: As Spain has so much to offer, so much to see, it does not really matter where you go as you will find something interesting everywhere, but I will try to pick some of the best places to go for a short break.

Madrid is often forgotten as it is the capital of Spain and therefore the business trips are the most common tourism, but Madrid is a place worth to be seen! And one of my favourite hotels in Spain is the "Hotel Puerta America", which is one of the most spectacular hotels in Madrid (http://www.hoteles-silken.com/HPAM/). It has been constructed by 18 different international architects and designers and you can choose the room with the architectonic style that suits you the best.

Another hotel that I like a lot and is perfect for a small escape is the hotel silken Zaragoza (http://www.hoteles-silken.com/portal/html/hotels.php?idmenubottom=&idcity=12)=es) . There you can choose between the hotel "Reino de Aragón" or "Zentro Zaragoza". Both are very central and has everything you need for a good relax, like well equipped bedrooms, restaurants, cafes, convention rooms, gym, garage etc. As Zaragoza is a very beautiful and interesting city, I go there when I just want to get away from the hectic city life and enjoy the architecture and peace that Zaragoza possesses.

San Sebastian in the north of Spain is also a "must go" in the summer. It is one of the pioneer resorts in Spain and holds some of the most beautiful beaches in Spain. Here you will find more national tourism than international, but the Spaniards know where to go when it is too hot in the beautiful south. The hotel in San Sebastian (http://www.hoteles-silken.com/hoteles/presentation.php?idhotel=4) that I usually stay in is called "Hotel Amara Plaza", a work done by the famous architect Peña Ganchegui. The architecture is quite interesting as the high technology contrasts with the interior classicism.

Valencia, the birthplace of the original dish Paella, is worth a visit. Especially if you like to eat and drink well after a long day on the beach, and then rest in one of the most beautiful hotels in Spain (http://www.hoteles-silken.com/portal/html/index.php?lang=es), "Hotel Puerta Valencia" . Javier Mariscal has made the beautiful pattern that covers the hotels glass facade.

The last "must see" must be Barcelona. Although this year there has been a decrease in the number of tourists that visit Barcelona , it is a spectacular city. This is the place to go if you are interested in architecture and design. In Barcelona you can do it all, go to the beach in the morning, to the museums in the afternoon and eat and drink in the most modern and interesting restaurants in Spain.

There are a lot of good hotels in Barcelona (http://www.hoteles-silken.com/hoteles/presentation.php?idmenuleft=0&deploy=true&idhotel=19) , but I especially like hotel diagonal for its modern architecture and internal design. Everything is new and surprising, made for a public that search for an exclusive accommodation.

This would be the five hotels and cities that I would recommend, but Spain is like a treasure chest, you can find something spectacular in any place.
